Migori Water For All (MIWAFA-Foundation) has been operating as a Non Governmental organization since May 2009 with its offices in Kisumu-Kenya. The organization covers the following Districts; BONDO, NYANDO, SIAYA, KISUMU EAST, SUBA, RACHUONYO, MIGORI, HOMABAY AND VIHIGA. All the Districts mentioned here-in are in Nyanza Province except Vihiga which falls in Western Province. MIWAFA has grown in stature and reputation with a large participation from various development actors from the CBOs, WOMEN GROUPS, FRIENDS and the donor community operating within and outside Kenya. Participation in the MIWAFA ACTIVITIES is diverse with members’ activities ranging from: making water filtration equipment (BSF), Hygiene and Sanitation Training, Drilling Boreholes, Digging/Constructing Pit Latrines, Support to Girl-Child Education, Early Childhood Development e.t.c Our priority areas of operation primarily focus on the following: Water and Sanitation Education Agriculture Health M.V.C/O.V.C-Support We operate at two levels – First at Membership level for networking, skill development and advocacy. Our second intervention is at community level for sensitization, mobilization and empowerment We are reaching the community through school based programmes.
